The Main 3 Reasons We Enjoy Celebrity Gossip

March 14th, 2010

Why is it that many of us are fascinated with celebrities? Come on, you know it’s true! Who has not picked up the most recent gossip magazine in the checkout line at the corner store, and gotten their fix of celeb gossip? I’m aware that I have! And you know those magazines wouldn’t be there if nobody bought them!

So why do we girls and guys have such an obsession with following the lives of folk we don’t know? Well read on for the top 3 reasons we love celebrity gossip, and especially marriage gossip!

Reason #1: It’s so much fun living vicariously thru the lives of others. I mean let’s accept it - many of us will likely never just jet off to the Caribbean to be married to a 20 something super model in a luxurious and secret wedding attended by all of the largest names in Hollywood. We adore reading about celeb’s famous and sometimes infamous weddings as it lets us pretend and imagine what it would be like to live a famous and fabulously rich life. I mean really, what would it be like getting married in an Italian castle like Tom and Katie?

Reason #2: It makes us feel happier about ourselves! It’s simply a fact of human nature that no matter how bad our own lives seem to be, there is always someone else out there who will cause you to feel better about your own situation. Sure, you may be endeavoring to pay the bills with a night stocker job at the local Wal-Mart, but at least you did not get pregnant with octuplets and then have nobody in the media care about it! Sure, you may not have been able to have 1,000,000 dollar wedding on an exotic island, but at least your marriage is still intact after a decade instead of ten mins, like a certain country music star we all know. Rhymes with Benny Lesney?

Reason #3: Because it’s there! Infrequently, stars are like a train wreck - you do not need to look at, but you can’t look away! It’s not like you need to watch Brittany going down in flames and shaving her head bald, leaving K-Fed as the responsible parent ( yikes ) but dang, how can you not watch? And if they didn’t wish their escapades splashed all over the media, then perhaps they shouldn’t be acting crazy! I mean, how many country stars do you see in the tabloids, besides the one mentioned above of course? Not that many, because they aren’t out wrecking Ferraris (cough, cough Sarah Harding).

So there you have it, the top 3 reasons we like celebrity gossip! It may be inspiring, it may be abominable, it may be superb, but celeb gossip is always entertaining! And entertainment is the spice of life!

New And Old Hollywood Actresses That Made It Big

March 1st, 2010

Oscar nominations are always the buzz around Hollywood magazines and tabloids. The announcement of the official nominees is always anticipated. This year several actresses appeared on the ballots, many of whom have never had a nomination in the past.

First up is Sandra Bullock in the “Blind Side.” This heart warming movie touched everyone’s soul when seen in theaters around Thanksgiving. Her acting was precise and skilled, which it hasn’t always been. Sandra Bullock also performed in many other movies last year that won her recognition. Sandra Bullock is loved by most because she breaks the rules that most Hollywood actresses follow. She isn’t in the tabloids for controversial things, and she doesn’t party like other young starlets.

Of course, even though Sandra is one of the “older” Hollywood actresses, newer starlets are making a scene too. Last years “Precious” film took the world by storm when Gabourey Sidibe played the role of a pregnant and undereducated teenager. Even though she is a new star, she skyrocketed to fame. In interviews she continuously states she had no idea that she would ever become so famous. Her acting skill is sure to take her places!

Carey Mulligan is a relatively newly heard of actress as well. Her role in An Education was so phenomenal that she was nominated for a Leading Actress award. In this film she plays an English school girl that is seduced by a much older man.

Next up is Penelope Cruz, a well known Hispanic actress that is always stunning on the red carpet. She is nominated for a supporting actress role for the movie “9″ and continues to awe her fans with her acting prowess. Penelope is often misunderstood as a B list star, but her acting and fashion sense definitely have the ability to make her the top of the list.

Unlike other movie stars, Mo’Nique hasn’t been in the spotlight. Even though she is well known in Hollywood, she tends to lay low. She also played in the movie, Precious, based off the novel “Push” by Sapphire. She plays the evil mother that is abusive and beats her pregnant daughter. Her role is very realistic and powerful - which is why she was nominated as a supporting actress.

Final Thoughts

Not all Hollywood actresses are eligible for an Oscar. Many are never nominated, even if they are good actresses. The women that were nominated this year are stunning in every way and continue to impress audiences with bold acting roles and their power over the red carpet.

Some Reasons That People Are So Intrigued By Celebs Marrying and Breaking Up

January 27th, 2010

Relationships don’t always last. Everyone knows that. However , some last longer than others, and we are far more curious about the small print of some relations than others. Many people love to follow the gossip about celebs getting married and breaking up. Why are they so entranced by this kind of news? Is it really any of their business? Perhaps not, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t grab our attention when we hear about some star getting married or breaking up.

First off, a large amount of people have fantasies about getting together with certain celebs. So they follow the lives of these folk as closely as possible to find out more about them and to feel more hooked up to them. Imagine their dismay when they here this star is getting married and will not be on the market. This means that the slim possibility of them getting together is no longer there.

However, this isn’t the end of the line. A celebrity getting married doesn’t mean that we are now not fascinated with their lives. We want to follow all of the gossip in order to see if there is a chance they might essentially break up with their partner so we can return to the illusion that we’d essentially have a chance with them should we ever manage to meet them.

Another excuse why people are interested in celebrities getting married and breaking up is because following their antics makes them seem a touch more real. They are doing things just like standard folks do, though perhaps in a splashier way. They look for love and family just like we do, and their success in their careers does not stop them from failing at it just as frequently ( or perhaps even more frequently ) than the typical person does.

Celebs seem to cock up their lives a lot, which makes us feel better about our own issues and mistakes. Even though they could be famous and have lots of money, they continue to have their issues. Though this may not make us the best folks, it is not actually all that harmful.

Take a look at the latest congressman gossip and celeb stories at your local corner shop or corner shop and come to your own conclusion.
